Done with the White stuff!

Good Morning white, soggy, slushy, flooded and downed tree world! I sit with a warmed up coffee in hand. (I know that really bad for someone that loves coffee so much, but I truly didn't want to wake up the family with the sound of the coffee grinder!)
Well, Mark and Clay had to leave the house really early for a INDOOR soccer tournament in Richmand today! 1st game was at 8:30am?! I was happy to stay at home out of that slushy mess! It's a rubber boot day all the way!
Well the rest of us are going to Church this morning, I'm so looking forward to the Christmas Eve service that they will be presenting today since it was cancelled do to all the snow.
The tree's infront of our place were taken down yesterday and the truck is here to finish off a few more that are unsafe. The weight of the snow and then the rain caused a few trees in our complex to fall over (all of them on vehicles). I heard the beep and thought maybe it was the garbage truck, but no! The recycling and garabage continue to pile up! It's such a mess!
We had an eagle out side our place yesterday, it was so beautiful! I was able to get a photo before it flew away! The birds must be hungry with all this snow on the ground!
Must get ready for church now and wake up the rest of the family! Have a happy day and try to stay dry!

Winter Wonderland

Walking in a winter wonderland! I love it! Not the driving though! A few close calls today with the hills. Enjoyed my daughter's Christmas concert today, Sarah did a Jewish song and Hayley sang a Mexician one. The concert was very lovely with a Celebrations in December theme. My favorite songs were the "Hot Chocolate" song from the Polar Express and the Shephard Boy song which talked about the precious gift of Jesus. I'm so thankful that our faith can be shared at this point in our local school!
My preschool concert was cancelled tonight as the roads were to icy and snowy. We didn't want to put families and their precious children in danger. We will do the concerts during the class time tomorrow and Friday, this way all the children will get to participate as well!
One more day of work and then a 2 week break! Awesome! Looking forward to sharing coffee with friends and family over the holidays!
I've been humming "Walking in a winter wonderland" for a few weeks now.... Love the beautiful trees ladden with the snow, love the quietness as the snow seems to insulate everything, loved the sound of my children as they played outside in the snow for 2 1/2 hours today while I drank coffee inside my warm house!

Gingerbread Latte

Ahhh... Decorations are up, boxes are put away, children are in bed and I just made myself a yummy latte! What more could I ask for?
Christmas shopping is started, but far from done!
I started my day with a yoga class with a dear friend. I feel like I walked taller all day today! I think I could really get into this!

My coffee addiction

Posted by Picasa

December is here!

Well, here we go joining the world of Blogging! I hear it can be very addicting and time consuming?! I'm already addicted to coffee so at least I can drink and blog at the same time right?
I can't believe that December is here already! I havn't even started my shopping or decorating! It always gets done though so what's the panic right? Shopping with a Starbucks in hand is totally do-able! As far as the decorating, I'm thinking of just having the boys bring up the 15 boxes of Christmas decorations and then let the girls go for it! I could watch them and enjoy a cup of coffee!
Actually I'm excited about the holidays, we were away last year and didn't even put up a tree, so that is something I'm looking forward to! We haven't joined the world of artifical trees yet, so we will wait another week to cut down a fresh tree!
December is great month with many family and friends events planned. I am most excited for my dear friend Barb and her family, they will be bringing home their sweet daughter from Russia. It has been a long adoption process and very frustrating for them, but it will soon be behind them and a fourth child will join their awesome family!
Anyways, I need to go warm up my coffee now! Not sure if this Blog thing will work out.
